One delicious and nutritious way to support your overall health and beauty is by indulging in homemade dry fruits ladoo. This delightful treat combines the goodness of various dry fruits and nuts, each offering a unique set of benefits.

Dry Fruits that help your skin, hair and bones

Let’s take a closer look at the key ingredients and their contributions to your well-being:

1. Almonds

Almonds are packed with vitamin E, which acts as a powerful antioxidant, protecting your skin from damage caused by free radicals. They also contain biotin, a B-vitamin that supports healthy hair.

2. Cashews

Cashews provide essential minerals like zinc and copper, which aid in collagen production for skin elasticity. Zinc is also known for its role in maintaining scalp health.

3. Walnuts

Walnuts are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which help to keep your skin hydrated and supple. Omega-3s also promote a healthy scalp and hair.

4. Pistachios

These green gems contain vitamins A and E, which contribute to skin health by reducing the signs of ageing. Additionally, they contain biotin for strengthening hair.

5. Raisins

Raisins are a natural source of antioxidants, iron, and potassium. Iron supports the transportation of oxygen to your skin cells, while potassium helps maintain bone health.

6. Dates

Dates are a natural sweetener in this recipe, providing fiber and essential minerals like potassium, magnesium, and calcium for strong bones.

7. Apricots

Apricots are rich in vitamin A and vitamin C, both of which are crucial for skin health and collagen production. They also contain potassium, supporting bone density.

8. Desiccated Coconut

Coconut adds a tropical flair to these ladoos and brings in healthy fats and fiber. It also contains copper, which is vital for skin and bone health.

9. Ghee (Clarified Butter)

Ghee is a source of healthy fats and fat-soluble vitamins. It aids in the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins from other ingredients and promotes a glowing complexion.

10. Cardamom

Cardamom not only enhances the flavor but also offers antioxidant properties, which contribute to overall skin health.

11. Saffron (Optional)

Saffron, known as the “sunshine spice,” can add a touch of luxury to your ladoos. It may help improve skin texture and provide a natural glow.

·        1 cup mixed dry fruits (almonds, cashews, walnuts, pistachios, raisins, dates, apricots, etc.)

·        1/2 cup desiccated coconut

·        1/4 cup seedless dates (you can adjust the quantity depending on your preference for sweetness)

·        2-3 tablespoons ghee (clarified butter)

·        1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder (optional)

·        A pinch of saffron strands (optional)

·        Chopped nuts for garnish (optional)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Dry Fruits Start by chopping or grinding the mixed dry fruits into small pieces. You can use a food processor or chop them by hand. Keep them aside.

2. Prepare the Dates Remove the seeds from the dates and chop them into small pieces.

3. Roast the Desiccated Coconut Heat a pan on low-medium heat and dry roast the desiccated coconut until it turns slightly golden brown. This should take about 2-3 minutes. Remove it from the pan and set it aside.

4. Prepare the Ghee In the same pan, add the ghee and heat it on low flame until it melts.

5. Blend the Ingredients In a blender or food processor, add the chopped dry fruits, chopped dates, roasted desiccated coconut, cardamom powder, and saffron strands (if using). Blend everything until it forms a coarse mixture. You can add a tablespoon of ghee while blending if the mixture is too dry.

6. Make Ladoos Take a small amount of the mixture and roll it between your palms to make small ladoos. You can make them as big or small as you like.

7. Garnish If desired, garnish the ladoos with chopped nuts like almonds or pistachios.

8. Allow Them to Set Place the ladoos on a plate or tray and let them cool for a few hours or until they firm up.

9. Store Once they have cooled and set, store the dry fruits ladoos in an airtight container. They can be stored at room temperature for a few days and in the refrigerator for longer shelf life.

Enjoy your homemade dry fruits ladoo as a healthy snack that can contribute to better skin, hair, and bone health due to the nutritional benefits of dry fruits and nuts. Remember to consume them in moderation as they are calorie-dense.
